World Heart Day is observed worldwide on September 29 to increase public awareness of cardiovascular diseases and healthy living.
Throughout the month of September, Aga Khan University organizes various activities to raise awareness about heart diseases and living a healthy lifestyle, including cycling and running events.

Aga Khan University organized a mini-marathon under the leadership of Dr Shahabuddin and other doctors, in which medical staff, students, and children also participated.
MM News spoke to the doctors participating in the mini marathon race about this activity, who said that the purpose of this activity is to create awareness among people,
They said heart disease is the world’s number one killer and the most common cause of death. Every 30 seconds, a person dies of heart disease. Unfortunately, people in Pakistan do not care about heart health and ignore any problems.
Doctors said that people eat a lot of junk food which is harmful to their health. They also blamed the lack of exercise and stress on exercising at least half an hour every day.
The Aga Khan University doctors said that our heart needs a lot of attention because as we age, the risk of heart disease also increases and impacts our health.
They said the main reason is lack of exercise and consumption of fatty food. They said we should consume healthy food and exercise regularly so that we do not face any kind of disease.
