Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 is finally set to release in theaters on May 1. The film, directed by Rajkumar Gupta, features Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, and Saurabh Shukla in key roles.
Ajay Devgn reprises his role as income tax officer Amay Patnaik in the sequel. Sharing the film’s poster, he announced the release date with the caption: “Naya Shehar. Nayi File. Aur Amay Patnaik Ki Ek Nayi Raid. #Raid2 knocking at your doors in cinemas near you on 1st May 2025.”
Initially scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, Raid 2 was later postponed to February 21, 2025, before being further delayed. The film, shot extensively in Delhi and Lucknow, promises another gripping action-packed thriller.
The first installment was inspired by a real-life income tax raid conducted on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s, known as the longest raid in Indian history, lasting three days and two nights.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with Panorama Studios. The film will now release in theaters on May 1, 2025.
