Malaysia’s renowned low-cost carrier AirAsia X has officially launched direct flight operations to Karachi, marking its entry into Pakistan’s aviation market.
The airline’s inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur touched down at Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday, carrying 315 passengers on board. The arrival was celebrated with traditional fanfare, including a water cannon salute, symbolizing a warm welcome for the new entrant to Pakistan’s skies.

Airport authorities, along with representatives from the airline, greeted the crew and passengers upon arrival, expressing optimism about the opportunities the new route presents for tourism, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
According to airline officials, four weekly flights will now operate between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur, providing greater convenience for Pakistani travelers seeking to explore Malaysia or connect onwards via AirAsia’s extensive international network.
