ISLAMABAD: Pakistani banker Zafar Masood has been appointed as the President of Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC).
The decision was made in the Board of Directors meeting held on Wednesday (today) to appoint Zafar Chairman of the organization under Section 192 of the Companies Act 2017.
Zafar Masud was serving as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bank of Punjab (BOP), having held the position since 4th April 2020.
On 22 May the same year, Masud survived the crash of Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303. The Airbus A320 crashed at Jinnah International Airport killing 97 of the 99 people on board.
Masud sustained multiple fractures from the crash but has been reported to be in a stable condition. Two days after the accident, Masud wrote a letter to the BOP and said that he would continue serving as CEO of the bank
