ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and discussed matters of mutual interests, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
On this occasion, Zaheer Ahmed Baber assured the envoy that serious steps would be taken for the implementation of the CPEC projects. The Air Chief expressed his satisfaction with the existing cooperation between PAF and PLAAF and reiterated that this cooperation would be further strengthened.
The ambassador congratulated the Air Chief on assuming command of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and said that PAF would achieve new heights and glory under his inspirational leadership. Various matters of mutual interests and bilateral cooperation were also discussed in the meeting.
Earlier, the Chinese envoy called on Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar and discussed matters related to bilateral relations projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
They expressed satisfaction with Joint Working Groups (JWGs) meetings held in recent weeks for various sectors. They agreed to work together to make the second phase of CPEC a success.
Minister Asad Umar welcomed the ambassador on his new assignments and extended best wishes for his endeavors. He said that the China-Pakistan relationship extended beyond the government to government cooperation as the bond between the people of the two countries was also very strong.
The Chinese ambassador thanked the minister and said that the Chinese side also highly values the relationship and it would be his endeavor to build on the work done in the last many years.
