According to latest information gathered by MM News, the staff at the Karachi Zoo is working under the guidance of foreign NGO’s medical specialists, and experienced veterinary doctors are examining Noor Jehan, who are also in contact with Four Paws. Four Paws, an international animal welfare organization, sent a seven-member team of international experts to Karachi last Wednesday to treat the ailing elephant.

Their visit was in response to a court order issued by the Sindh High Court (SHC) in Karachi last year, which required Four Paws to assess the health of the animals after local animal rights activists raised concerns in court about their well-being.
Noor Jahan and another elephant named Madhubala were moved to the Karachi Zoo, while Malika and Sonu were taken to the Safari Park when all four African elephants arrived in Pakistan in 2009. Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman expressed the hope that Noor Jahan would soon make a full recovery.
