Former Pakistan cricket captain Younis Khan has been appointed batting coach by Afghanistan.
Former national team captain Younis Khan has been appointed by the Afghan Cricket Board as the batting coach of the Afghanistan cricket team under a short-term agreement. Younis Khan will take charge of the camp in the UAE.
Younis Khan said in a Twitter message released on the social networking site Twitter that he has been working hard with the Afghan Cricket Board. Talks with the Afghan Board have been going on since 2011. “I have finally become the batting coach of the Afghan national team,” he tweeted.
It has been my utmost desire to work with @ACBofficials as a coach & the discussions have been going on since 2011 during my playing days. He described the camp as the best opportunity to work with the Afghan cricket team and said that he would be able to test new talent. In addition, former national team cricketer Muhammad Hafeez also congratulated Younis Khan on his appointment as batting coach.
