LAHORE: An accountability will resume the hearing of media tycoon Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman’s physical remand in the illegal property case.
AC Judge Jawadul Hasan will conduct the hearing. During the last hearing, the NAB lawyer upon the arrest of Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman said that he was apprehended after he failed to give the record.
The accused was asked to submit the legal proof of the acquirement of 54 acres of land in Lahore during the occupancy of Shehbaz Sharif in 1986.
However, the allegation was rejected and termed as baseless by the lawyer of Rahman. The lawyer of Rahman further revealed that NAB apprehended his client without hearing his stance on the orders of its chief.
Mir Shakil ur Rahman was arrested last month in relation to illegal property cases in Lahore. The bureau presented Rahman before accountability judge Ameer Mohammad Khan. According to NAB, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had illegally leased the land to Rehman in 1986. NAB had apprehended the media tycoon in a case pertaining to the purchase of a 54 acres land in Lahore.
