RAWALPINDI: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Saturday met with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
According to the UAE embassy in Pakistan’s official Twitter account, the army chief was received by the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
In the meeting between the Abu Dhabi crown prince and the army chief, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries were discussed. They also discussed efforts to safeguard security and promote peace.
Both affirmed their commitment to bolstering co-operation between the UAE and Pakistan in issues of defence and military affairs. They exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
The UAE embassy’s account tweeted: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Supreme Commander of the #UAE Armed Forces, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, receives General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of the #Pakistani Army, and discusses with him the ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.”
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces welcomed Lt General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan’s Army Chief of Staff, to Al Bahr Palace in the Emirati capital for high-level talks.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the army chief arrived in the UAE. In a tweet, the DG ISPR said that regional security and matters of mutual interest were also discussed in the meeting.
