Abbottabad look to secure their first win in Hanif Mohammad Trophy

LAHORE: Abbottabad look to secure their first victory of the season, chasing 276 in the final innings. Islamabad, who had posted 463 in the first innings, continued their dominance by enforcing a follow-on on Larkana after they were bowled out for 208 in their first batting innings.

Hyderabad v DM Jamali

At the start of the day, Hyderabad was 338-5, trailing by 68 runs with five wickets in hand. As the day went on, DM Jamali bowlers were able to remove the five remaining wickets while Hyderabad trickled to 404.

Although DM Jamali began their second batting innings on a turbulent note when they lost three early wickets, a 140-run-stand between Taimur Ali and Abid Ali Mengal took them back on track.

DM Jamali ended their day at 153-4.

Islamabad v Larkana

Larkana started the third day on 59, at the loss of 4 important wickets. None of the batters were able to cross the 50 runs mark, however, the collective effort took the side to 208 before they were bowled out. A follow-on was thus employed.

In their second batting innings, Larkana tried to stitch partnerships up top. Eventually, a 50-run-stand between Umar Khalid and Habibullah helped their cause.

They ended their day at 139-5, with Faraz Aziz and Mohsin Raza on the crease.

Karachi Blues v Abbottabad

Karachi began the day at 190-7, leading by over 259 runs. After getting to 207-9, the side declared their innings and invited Abbottabad to bat, as the final innings of the match began.

The fifties from Sajjad Ali and Afaq Ahmed gave them a steady start. It was then continued by Khayam Khan, who scored 61 runs before he was removed by Saqib, who got a three-wicket haul.

Abbottabad were comfortably placed to win the game, at the end of day three, as their scorecard read 246-6, trailing by just 30 runs.

AJK v Quetta

AJK resumed their innings from 60-3 at the start of the third day. The fifties from Basit Ali and Nadeem Khalil helped them get to 201 before they were bowled out.

Quetta, ahead of the game by just 12 runs at the start of their second batting innings, remained comfortable in their pursuit of runs. A 71-run-opening stand between Hazrat Wali and Latif Ullah was followed by an unbeaten 62-run-stand between Hazrat and Abdul Wahid Bangalzai. Quetta ended the day at 134-1.
