At least one person was killed and several others injured in an explosion inside a central imambargah (mosque affiliated with Shia Muslims) in Punjab province’s Bahawalnagar.
According to details, an explosion took place in the first mourning procession from Alzahra University on the occasion of Ashura, the sound of which was heard far and wide. A powerful blast killed at least three people and injured several others, the injured are being shifted to the hospital.
According to the city administration, an emergency has been declared in the hospital. Police and Rangers cordoned off the area and cordoned off the area. A suspect was arrested on the spot and eyewitnesses are also being questioned.
