KABUL: The video of the international correspondent is making rounds on social media as she donned a hijab while reporting from the capital of Afghanistan.
A hashtag of ‘Hijab’ has been trending on social media since last evening after CNN chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward was spotted wearing a hijab while reporting from Kabul. Let’s have a look:
Since the day I started my campaign against compulsory hijab, many Western journalists refused to help me by saying that this is part of Iranian’s culture. Wrong! As this picture speaks for itself. Compulsory hijab is Taliban’s culture. pic.twitter.com/5efpNn8K0p

not reporters and commentators confusing hijab with niqab with burqa – you guys had 20 years to learn the difference????

Funny to see anchors sitting in Noida mocking @clarissaward of @CNN for wearing Hijab while reporting in Kabul.
Look at her courage, not clothes. As a real journalist she is risking her life to tell a live story. Btw she didn’t go there to fight Talibans. Those who did ran away. pic.twitter.com/gn1F5s0hMq

Despite the drastic change in the shape and type of media broadcast in Afghanistan, one private TV channel still had a woman anchor the news — without the full Islamic Hijab. pic.twitter.com/MW3LxFQ2oW

Hijab is a choice that she made in less than 24 hours. ???? pic.twitter.com/hRgMDdVFgJ

Taliban allows CNN as this is immense propaganda value for them
– Shows them in victory
– Even Western women must wear hijab in Afghanistan now
This isn’t reporting, it’s doing the enemy’s bidding.
