KARACHI: A motorcyclist lost his life on Sunday after a razor-sharp kite string slit his throat in Karachi.
According to rescue sources, the victim, identified as Umair, was riding a motorcycle when he was caught by a string on Tariq Road of the metropolis.
Rescue officials said the string cut through the man’s neck, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased has left behind two children and a widow. On the other hand, Sindh IGP took notice of the incident and directed concerned police officials to investigate the incident and arrest culprits.
Meanwhile, the police are trying to find out whether the string belonged to a kite or was a hanging wire, sources from the police added. Earlier, the minor boy died allegedly after his throat was slit by a glass-laced string of a kite in the Baldia Town area of the metropolis.
According to police sources, a four-year-old boy suffered a two-inch deep cut on his throat caused by sharp kite string when he was on a bike with his parents in the Baldia area.
