ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned the federal cabinet meeting today (Tuesday) to discuss the country’s economic and political situation.
The cabinet will discuss a 16-point agenda during the meeting. As per its meeting’s agenda, the cabinet will give a nod to payment of salary and allowances to the Broadsheet commission chairman, retired Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.
Sources have informed that approval of donations to the SAARC COVID-19 emergency fund is also part of the agenda. The federal cabinet will be briefed on the Islamabad Metro Bus project.
The cabinet will also give approval to the State Bank of Pakistan amendment bill while the approval of the appointment of Member Finance in NEPRA Applet Tribunal is also part of the agenda.
The federal cabinet will also approve a draft of the Pakistan Institute of Education Bill 2021. The appointment of the Managing Director of NTDC will also be approved during today’s meeting.
Despite opposition’s resistance, the federal government had appointed Justice Saeed as head of the one-man commission. The Broadsheet LLC was incorporated in the Isle of Man to help Pervez Musharraf’s government and the newly established National Accountability Bureau (NAB) track down foreign assets purchased by Pakistanis.
