ISLAMABAD: A private bank has terminated an employee for harassing female staff in Islamabad.
As per details, police on Saturday arrested an employee of a private bank after a video went viral on social media show him sexually harassing female staff.
On a social media website, the bank informed, “We would like to inform that the identified employee has been terminated effective immediately and all necessary action is being taken against him in line with our code of conduct, HR policies and other legal requirements”.
“We would also like to conform that contrary to the circulating post, the involved employee is not branch manager,” it added.
It further said in reference to the video circulating on social media regarding the harassment of a female employee at bank office premises Faysal bank strongly condemns such individual act of unprofessional behavior and workplace harassment by an employee, which contrary to the strong value system, ethical standard and professional work environment being maintained by the bank for all its employees.

On Saturday, a video went viral on social media in which the bank employee can be seen inappropriately touching a female staff member.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat had urged the citizens to delete the video on moral grounds. “All evidence is with law enforcement agencies and forensics are being examined.”

Meanwhile, while taking the notice of the incident, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad had directed the DIG operations to arrest the accused. Later, a police team, constituted by DIG operations, arrested the accused in a raid at his home in the F-10 Sector of the federal capital.
