ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet approved remission in sentences of the prisoners by three month on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
A meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan took strong exception to the publication of blasphemous caricatures in France. The cabinet also condemned in the strongest terms the remarks of French President Emmanuel Macron that hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.
The federal cabinet has reiterated to use every available forum for effective representation of the sentiments of Muslims regarding the blasphemous caricatures. It was decided that the reservations of the Pakistani nation and Muslim Ummah would be conveyed to the world through the platform of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The federal government also announced to observe an Ishq-e-Rasool (S.A.W) week starting 12 Rabi-ul-Awal and organise conferences and Milad programs across Pakistan.
The idea was floated by Religious affairs minister Pir Noor-Ul-Haq Qadri which was approved by the prime minister who directed the cabinet members to roll out a plan. The week shall remain in force starting Friday 12th Rabi-ul-Awal (Oct 30) to next Friday 18tg Rabi ul Awal (Nov 6).
The religious affairs ministry has convened an urgent session, chaired by Pir Noor-Ul-Haq Qadri to discuss and formulate a plan on how to celebrate the Ishq e Rasool (S.A.W) week.
The ministry will organise programs and sessions in line with the spirit of love and regard for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and a conference will be held in Islamabad which will be attended by the prime minister and President Arif Alvi.
Muslims across the globe observe the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The preparations are in full swing to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) with religious enthusiasm and solemnity across the country.
Various religious, social and cultural organisations will organise Milad and Seerat gatherings where speakers will highlight various aspects of the life and teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Mosques, government and private buildings, markets, shopping centres, and roads across the country being decorated and illuminated with colourful lights to mark the occasion.
