ATTOCK: The mushroom growth of new housing schemes in Attock city of Punjab province is at its peak and these schemes are selling plots without approval from the municipal committees concerned and the district council.

According to details, the marketing/advertisement of illegal housing society (Green City) continued in the city due to the negligence of the concerned authorities. Sources have informed that the illegal housing society has not obtained any approval/NOC from the authorities.

Many buyers are lured to buy land in housing schemes and after getting trapped, they have to wait for years to start construction due to incomplete development works. The management of the illegal housing society is fooling people by showing an unapproved and a fake map.

On the other hand, the municipal committee of Attock had declared as many as 60 housing societies operating in different areas of Attock, Hasanabdal, Hazro and Fateh Jhang as illegal.

MC sources said that the mushroom growth of illegal housing societies has been noticed in Fateh Jhang where more than 50 illegal societies are currently operating, depriving innocent people of their hard-earned money through attractive slogans and tall claims.
