ISLAMABAD: As many as 670 more people tested positive for the novel COVID-19 during the last 24 hours across the country, taking the number of confirmed cases to 288,717.
According to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the total number of deaths due to coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 6,168 after six patients died during the last 24 hours.
The number of active coronavirus cases has dropped to 16,248 as 266,301 patients have recuperated in the country.
As many as 24,022 more samples were tested over the previous 24 hours, taking the total number of tests conducted across the country so far to more than 2.2 million.
NCOC data revealed 1,308 coronavirus patients are under treatment in different hospitals across the country, 141 of whom are struggling for their lives on ventilators.
At least 125,904 cases of coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh, 95,39 in Punjab, 35,153 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,224 in Balochistan, 15,378 in Islamabad, 2,181 in Jammu Azad Kashmir and 2,486 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,182 in Punjab, 2,317 in Sindh, 1,238 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 173 in Islamabad, 138 in Balochistan, 60 in Azad Kashmir and 61 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
