ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Lt. Gen (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that the financial closes of 330 Megawatts (MW) Thar Block-2 power plant was expected in September end.
On a social media website Twitter, he said the project to be executed by Thal Nova and HUBCO was launched recently with an Investment of $ 500 million.
Bajwa further said that it has created 305 local jobs so far, adding that the project was being pushed by the company’s own equity to prevent time loss.

On 31 July, he said, “Update: Thar Block-2. 330 MW power plant by Thar Energy Limited, HUBCO, work in full swing unaffected by COVID Investment $500 M, substantial progress. Total local direct jobs 805, its financial close was done on 31st Jan 2020.”
