WASHINGTON: The number of coronavirus infection cases across the world has surged to 13,238,121 and the pandemic has so far claimed over 575,545 lives.
According to the latest data, 7,698,371 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
The United States tops with nearly 3,479,483 cases and more than 138,247 deaths followed by Brazil with over 1,887,959 cases and more than 72,921 deaths.
India has reported 907,645 cases while 23,727 deaths due to the coronavirus. Over 733,699 people have infected while 11,439 people died of the virus in Russia. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
Peru has reported 330,123 cases while 12,054 deaths. In Chile, nearly 317,657 cases were confirmed, including more than 7,024 deaths.
Spain has recorded 28,406 fatalities and 303,033 infections. Mexico has reported 35,006 deaths and 299,750 cases.
The United Kingdom has reported 44,830 fatalities and 290,133 infections. South Africa has reported 4,172 deaths while over 287,796 people have been tested positive for the virus.
