KARACHI: Sindh government has decided to allow establishing cattle markets in the province while following devised standard operating procedures (SOPs) amid coronavirus.
According to details, the provincial government has decided to allow setting up cattle markets for sale and purchase of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid ul Adha.
However, a statement said that the markets would be bound to implement upon SOPs approved by the provincial government.
Authorities have devised SOPs and cattle markets could be established within the limits of towns, municipal committees, district councils, and municipal corporations.
According to the statement, the following SOPs have been notified:
1. Wearing of masks
2. Handwashing facilities
3. Marking of the floor for cattle/animal sellers
4. Lanes with arrows directing movement of buyers in two separate lanes (one for coming, one for going)
5. Three feet distance (ideally six feet) should be maintained between all persons.
It is worth mentioning here that the Sindh government has lifted various restrictions on movements imposed to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier on June 2, the provincial government allowed public transport and online ride-hailing services with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The provincial government on June 01 issued a notification, allowing markets to remain open in the city from 6 am in the morning till 7 pm in the evening.
