LAHORE: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged past 9,217 after 796 new cases emerged in several areas across the country.
According to the national dashboard, the country has reported 192 deaths. So far, 2,066 people have recovered from coronavirus across the country.
However, the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in COVID-19 cases. Punjab remains the worst affected province from coronavirus with 4,195 infections.
Around 41 new cases were recorded in Punjab in the last 24 hours. A partial lockdown has been imposed across the province to stem the spread of the infection.
Sindh government reported fresh cases of the coronavirus in the province taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 2,767. As many as 269 people have recovered from the infection.
There are 465 confirmed cases in Balochistan while 75 patients have recovered from the infection so far. The confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surged to 1,276 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There are 281 coronavirus cases in Gilgit-Baltistan. The government in the region has decided to impose a curfew for two days to stem the spread of the disease.
There are 50 cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. There are 185 cases in Islamabad while three patients have recovered so far.
About 61 people have died of COVID-19 in Sindh, 45 in Punjab, 74 in KP, 06 in Balochistan, 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 03 in Islamabad.
