President Alvi’s visit to China meant to express solidarity: FM Qureshi

BEIJING: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the purpose of President Alvi’s visit to China was to express solidarity with Chinese people in this tough situation.

Talking to journalists in Beijing today (Monday) when he arrived with the President, FM Qureshi said that China is an all-weather friend of Pakistan.

While lauding China’s efforts against the outbreak of coronavirus, FM Qureshi said that the entire world is pursuing Beijing’s strategy to deal with the deadly virus. 

FM Qureshi also showed gratitude to the Chinese government for taking care of Pakistani students and sending pesticide spray to combat locusts in the country.

He also announced that several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed in the fields of agriculture, science and technology with the Chinese leadership.

FM Qureshi further said that they will hold important meetings with the Chinese leadership during the visit.

He also said that matters related to peace in Afghanistan, Kashmir, regional situation and other issues will be discussed in the sittings.
