ISLAMABAD: State Minister of Health of Pakistan Dr Zafar Mirza confirmed seven more Coronavirus cases of the community transmission of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pakistan.
The total number of positive cases jumped to 28 from 21 on one the previous day with seven people tested positive at the Taftan border.
State Minister of Health of Pakistan Dr Zafar Mirza told a news conference held in Islamabad “Coronavirus cases jumped from 21 to 28 on Friday as seven more people were tested positive for the COVID-19 at Taftan border. They include a child with Thalassaemia and his female attendant, a person with diabetes and four of his contact persons.”
Zafar Mirza said that a National Coordination Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss steps to deal with the virus, added that there is a need to make decisions on a national level regarding the coronavirus.
He said that the government had decided to functional only three airports for international flights that will be operated only through Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports, he said.
Dr Mirza said that public gatherings have been barred across the country, adding that nothing was more important for the government than the people’s safety. He said that all educational institutions, both public and private, were being closed across the country.
