Bahawalpur police nab female kidnapper

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a lady kidnapper who kidnapped a new-born baby from Civil Hospital Bahawalpur.

The police spokesman of Bahawalpur said on a tip-off, a police team arrested the accused identified as Kausar Parveen. He said the accused had snatched a new-born baby from Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Ward of Civil Hospital.

He said that a woman, Yasmeen, w/o Muhammad Munsha gave birth to two children including a boy and girl in the hospital. The minor girl died at the hospital while the boy was admitted to NICU Ward and the accused woman took away him.

The police official further told the grandmother of the minor who was his attendant at NICU Ward left the ward to obtain medicines from a nearby medical store meanwhile the accused, Kausar Parveen took away the minor.

He said through CCTV footage, the lady was traced out who told the police that the baby boy had died. A case was registered against the woman and further investigation is underway the spokesman added.
