ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem has apologized to former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor.
While talking to media outside Supreme Court today, Farogh Naseem said that Anwar Mansoor was like my elder brother. “I take back my remarks against him,” he added.
Naseem denied his opposition towards the appointment of the newly-appointed Attorney General Khalid Javed.
He further said that he has no problem with the appointment of Khalid Jawed Khan as a new attorney general.
He also denied the news of his resignation and said that neither he was resigning from his designation nor he had issues towards the appointment of Khalid Javed.
On Saturday, Naseem was asked by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) for his immediate dismissal as Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem from the cabinet. In this regard, the PBC had urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to immediately remove the law minister from the cabinet.
The bar in its notification also appreciated outgoing Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan’s apology made to the PCB.
Earlier on 20th February, Naseem said that Anwar Mansoor was asked to resign. The government had told Anwar Mansoor that it would be better if he submits his resignation himself, he added.
The statement of Farogh Naseem came after the resignation letter of the attorney general Anwar Mansoor Khan.
He submitted his resignation to President Arif Alvi in which he stated that the Pakistan Bar Council had asked him to quit.
