ISLAMABAD: Speaking on Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s remarks Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief should be tried for high treason under Article 6 of the constitution.
Talking to journalists in Islamabad today (Friday), PM Imran said that an inquiry should be set up against Fazlur Rehman on his remarks and he should be asked who gave him that understanding.
Earlier last week, Maulana Fazulr Rehman claimed that the Islamabad sit-in was ended after an understanding with power brokers that the PTI government would soon be upturned
Commenting on inflation and food shortage, the premier said, “A cartel is present in the country that controls the prices of commodities.”
On a question about the inquiry report, PM Imran also claimed that the inquiry report in wheat and sugar shortage does not include Jahangir Tareen and Khushro Bakhtiar.
PM Imran commented on the IMF that the negotiations with the IMF on prices of electricity will soon be finalized, adding that the government could not increase the prices of electricity any further.
Referring to the opposition, the premier said, “The people who have looted the wealth of the country are afraid of Army.”
The premier further said that he is neither corrupt nor he is in politics to make money.
“Military Agencies have all the information about who is doing what,” PM Imran added.
