DAVOS: Prime Minister Imran Khan has discussed training programs to empower women in Pakistan with Ivanka Trump, daughter of US president.
Both Imran Khan and Ivanka Trump in an informal meeting also discussed educating women in Pakistan on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 summit.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari can also be seen in the photo with the prime minister. He praised Ivanka for her interest and also extended an invitation to the US president’s daughter to visit Pakistan.
In July 2019, when he met Trump at the White House, Imran Khan interacted with the First Lady Melania Trump as well.
Earlier on Wednesday, the prime minister met US President Donald Trump where Imran Khan said Pakistan desired peace in the region and would continue playing a role for regional peace and stability.
The prime minister said, “Fortunately, America and Pakistan are on the same page regarding Afghanistan. Talks are being held between their government and the Taliban.”
“The Pakistan-India conflict is a very big issue for us in Pakistan and we expect the US to always play its part in deescalating the tensions because no other country can,” he added.
When a reporter asked whether Trump would visit Pakistan as he was already set to visit India, he replied that he was meeting the prime minister in Davos and that the two countries had a good relationship.
