Progress has been made in the case of a woman’s body found in the city of Naushahro Feroze in Sindh — the woman was raped and then murdered.
According to police officials, the woman was killed near Mohabbat Dero in Naushahro Feroze. Her body was transferred to Kandiaro Hospital for postmortem.
The victim’s family stated that she was gang-raped two weeks ago by close relatives, and a jirga (tribal council) was scheduled to be held at a local feudal lord’s residence regarding the matter.
According to the family, the woman was kept at the feudal lord’s home for safekeeping until the jirga could be held. The accused, who committed the gang-rape, kidnapped the woman from near the feudal lord’s house.
The family has alleged that the perpetrators abducted the woman, took her to their home, and murdered her. After the killing, the suspects dumped her body near their house and fled.
Police officials stated that the real facts will come to light after the postmortem report is received. An initial investigation is underway, and a case will be registered against the accused. The DSP of Kandiaro is recording statements from the victim’s relatives.
