In an astonishing incident, a one-year-old child reportedly bit a cobra to death after it coiled around his hands in a remote village in Bihar, India.
This shocking incident occurred in the village of Mohchi Bankatwa, where a young boy named Gond Kumar lost consciousness while playing with a snake.
According to the family, Gond caught a live cobra inside the house and bit it. When his grandmother entered the room, she found the snake dead on the floor and the child unconscious.
The boy was rushed to the nearest Primary Health Center and later transferred to Bettiah Government Medical College and Hospital. Dr. Duwakant Mishra, the hospital superintendent, said, “The child is under medical observation. If symptoms of envenomation appear, immediate treatment will be administered.”
This unusual event has gained widespread attention, not only in the local community but also across social media, where many are calling it a rare act of nature.
Wildlife experts say that due to recent rains and unplanned construction, snake sightings in residential areas have increased. In Gurugram alone, 85 snakes were rescued from various locations during July.
It is important to note that the cobra is one of the most venomous snakes in the world. In India, thousands of snakebite-related deaths are reported annually. Just days ago, two sisters in Ludhiana died after being bitten by a snake.
