In another high-profile housemaid theft, a domestic help has allegedly stolen gold and cash worth millions of rupees from a residential flat in Karachi’s Shaheed-e-Millat Road area.
According to police, the maid reportedly fled with 50 tolas of gold and Rs. 150,000 in cash. A case has been registered at Ferozabad Police Station. However, the accused has not yet been traced.
The complainant, who runs a private garment business, said in the FIR that he had hired the maid, Shazia, on July 11, 2025, through a maintenance in-charge named Muhammad Irfan. The maid was scheduled to work daily from 1:15 PM to 2:30 PM. On the day of the incident, she arrived with another unidentified woman.
The complaint notes that the family had left for an event at 3:15 PM and returned around 6:15 PM to find the flat in disarray. Upon checking the cupboard, they discovered that Rs. 150,000 in cash and a large quantity of gold jewelry were missing.
The stolen items reportedly include nine sets, three lockets, eighteen bangles, three pairs of earrings, four rings, and three bracelets. Police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made so far.
