A man and woman became the focus of a massive online controversy this week after they were spotted during a Coldplay concert and then the band’s lead singer joked that their reaction to the attention suggests they could be having an affair.
According to details, the incident occurred at the band’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., where they performed on both Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16 this year.
A viral TikTok clip shows the camera panning to reveal the man and woman embracing. The woman quickly turns her back to the camera to hide her face, while the man slips out of view.
“Oh, look at these two,” Coldplay’s Chris Martin says to the crowd as the couple hides. “All right, c’mon, you’re okay.” Martin, 48, chimes in next, seemingly confused, “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Some people in the audience around the pair are visibly ecstatic in the clip; and the internet jumped on the odd, and widely viewed, incident, questioning the situation.
A flood of scrutiny followed, with numerous accounts claiming to identify the couple and expose aspects of their private lives. On the other hand, the media has not been able to reach the man and woman for comment, and they’ve made no public statement about the incident.
Who is the couple?
As reported by the international media, the camera captured two individuals, later identified as Andy Byron, CEO of the New York-based tech firm Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer, in an affectionate embrace.
Their swift attempt to hide their faces when they realized they were on display sparked immediate speculation online. A TikTok video of the incident, posted by user @instaagraace, garnered over 34 million views, with Chris Martin’s humorous remark, as mentioned earlier.
