In response to the exam paper leaks during the May/June 2025 session, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has announced a major relief for affected students by offering free resits in the November 2025 examination series.
The decision follows CIE’s confirmation last month that sections of question papers from the June session had been compromised. In response, the board stated that students would be awarded additional marks for the leaked questions.
CIE made the announcement via its official Facebook page, specifically addressing students who appeared in any of the three compromised papers: AS and A Level Mathematics Paper 12, Mathematics Paper 42, and Computer Science Paper 22.
According to the board, results for these subjects will still be issued as scheduled. However, affected candidates will have the option to retake the papers at no cost in the November session. This measure aims to ensure fairness and uphold the integrity of the examination process.
CIE has communicated this development to students and their families through schools and will issue further instructions after the June 2025 results are released. Students are advised to contact their respective schools for any additional queries.
The board also expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of students and their families during this period.
