Pakistani students have secured third place in the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round held in Doha.
Three students from Aitchison College participated in the competition, which took place from June 11 to 17. The World Scholar’s Cup featured a range of events, including quizzes, debates, and writing contests, with over 1,700 delegations from more than 50 countries taking part.
Representing Pakistan, Ibrahim Usman Ajmal, Muhammad Ahmad Zulfiqar, and Hussain Aslam Bhindar won a total of 92 medals and 11 trophies.
This marks the first time that Pakistani students have won a top position in the Global Round of the World Scholar’s Cup. Moreover, the same team will participate in the upcoming Tournament of Champions at Yale University in the United States later this year.
It is worth mentioning that the World Scholar’s Cup is an annual international academic program. More than 50,000 students from over 60 countries participate every year.
The program was founded by DemiDec, in particular by Daniel Berdichevsky, in early 2006. The World Scholar’s Cup aims to teach students with interesting, not-taught-in-school lessons, and find common ground between people of different backgrounds.
