The Meteorological Department has forecast pre-monsoon rains across the country from June 20 to 24, as reported by national media on Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of intermittent rainfall in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat, and Islamabad from June 20 to 23. Rain is also expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Sialkot.
Details indicate that during June 19 and 20, the weather is expected to remain extremely hot in most plain areas of the country. During this time, the general public—especially children, women, and the elderly—are advised to take precautionary measures.
Meteorologists recommend that women and elderly individuals should minimize outdoor activity, especially during midday and afternoon hours, and drink plenty of water.
However, from June 20 to 23, rainfall is expected in Narowal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Malakand. Rain is also expected in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and various other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Meteorological Department, from June 22 to 24, there is a possibility of rain with windstorms in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, and Jacobabad. Rain is also expected in Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Kalat, and various other regions.
During this period, strong winds and hailstorms are likely in different areas. There is a risk of damage to solar panels, uprooting of trees, and collapse of weak walls due to storms and strong winds. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures in view of the weather conditions.
