British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves has said that the UK could potentially assist Israel in a conflict with Iran. This stance from the UK comes following a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump in the context of a potential Iran-Israel war.
According to details, while speaking to foreign media, Rachel Reeves said that the decision to deploy additional fighter jets to the Middle East was made to protect British facilities and personnel.
She stated that the UK is sending military equipment to potentially assist both itself and its allies, and that the UK could possibly support Israel in a conflict with Iran. Additionally, the UK Foreign Office has issued a travel advisory against traveling to Israel.
It is worth noting that earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had indicated the possibility that the U.S. could become involved in the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.
In an off-camera conversation with senior American TV journalist Rachel Scott, President Trump said it is possible that the U.S. might join the fight between Iran and Israel, but he also clarified that the U.S. is not currently involved in any military action.
Trump also expressed willingness that if Russian President Vladimir Putin were to play a mediating role in the Iran-Israel war, he would be open to it.
