A 12-year-old boy from a poor family in Narowal took his own life after his parents were unable to buy him new shoes for Eid-ul-Adha.
According to media reports, Ahmad, the son of laborer Muhammad Naveed from Model Town, had asked his parents for new shoes to wear on Eid. However, due to financial hardship, his parents were unable to fulfill his request.
Ahmad committed suicide by slitting his throat with a knife while his father and mother were not at home.
He was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition, where doctors in the emergency ward pronounced him dead.
Police handed over the body to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures.
