In a move aimed at ensuring a secure and family-friendly environment during Eidul Adha, Islamabad authorities have restricted access to Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh to families only for the duration of the three-day holiday.
According to a notification issued by the Islamabad Capital Territory District Magistrate on Friday, the restriction will be enforced from June 7 to June 9, 2025.
During this period, entry will be prohibited for single men or groups of men without accompanying family members.
The decision has been taken to maintain public order and create a safe, harassment-free environment for women and families celebrating the holiday.
Both Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh are among the capital’s most popular recreational spots, drawing large crowds during Eid. However, past incidents of overcrowding and inappropriate behavior have raised concerns about the safety and comfort of visitors, particularly women and children.
Officials have urged the public to adhere to the temporary restrictions and cooperate with law enforcement to help ensure a peaceful holiday atmosphere for all. Authorities will be present at the parks to monitor compliance and address any violations during the designated period.
