Tech giant Microsoft has rolled out the new, free Bing Video Creator in the Bing mobile app, built on OpenAI’s Sora text-to-video model.
In a blog post, Washington-based company revealed on Monday, June 2, 2025, that users can now create short clips with OpenAI’s Sora, an option that previously was locked up behind ChatGPT subscriptions costing minimum of $20 per month for Plus users.
For now, the platform only allows five-second long clip in a 9:16 vertical format. However, support for 16:9 format video creation will be added at a later date.
Users can store clips on the Bing app for 3 months and can be downloaded or shared with other platforms.
As per the company, the Bing Video Creator will be available on desktop and Copilot Search soon, however for now, users can only use it on the Bing mobile app on iOS and Android.
How to use Bing Video Creator
To begin, open the Bing app on your phone or tablet and tap the menu icon located in the lower-right corner. In the list of available features, you should see a new option labeled “Video Creator.” Alternatively, you can initiate the process directly by typing “Create a video of…” into the search bar, bypassing the menu navigation.
Once you’ve selected either method, enter a detailed description of the video you wish to generate and tap “Create.” According to the Bing team, providing more context and specific details will enhance the quality of the AI-generated video. The time required to produce the video may vary depending on the complexity of your prompt.
