The government of Punjab has launched the registration phase of its much-anticipated E-Taxi project.
Earlier this year, Punjab announced E-Taxi Scheme 2025 to support unemployed youth by providing them with electric taxis at subsidized rates.
This initiative is designed to promote eco-friendly transportation while offering sustainable employment opportunities.
The Punjab government has directed Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), along with their authorized local dealers, distributors, and joint venture partners, to register eligible electric vehicle (EV) models for consideration. Only those vehicles that comply with the prescribed standards for safety, performance, and suitability for taxi operations will be evaluated.
The deadline for submitting applications is 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Submissions must be made in person at the office of the Transport and Mass Transit Department, located at 11-A Egerton Road, Lahore.
To support this initiative, the Punjab government is offering a competitive financial assistance package.

- Five-year loan financing through the Bank of Punjab
- Partial coverage of vehicle registration charges
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Punjab
- Possess a valid Punjab Transport Authority-issued driving license
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Aged between 21 and 55 years
