TikToker Sana Yousaf was shot dead in Islamabad’s G-13/1 area, within the jurisdiction of the Sumbal police station, on Monday.
According to initial police reports, unknown assailants forcefully entered her residence and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Sana Yousaf, originally from Upper Chitral, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Police officials have confirmed that Sana’s body was moved to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. Investigations are underway, with authorities not ruling out any motives, including personal enmity or targeted violence related to her online presence.
The brutal killing echoes a similar incident from earlier this year when a father in Quetta, Anwarul Haq, confessed to murdering his daughter Hira over her TikTok activity.
The family had recently returned from the United States, and the father labeled his daughter’s social media content “objectionable.”
Initially, he attempted to mislead police by claiming unknown assailants were involved, but later admitted to the crime, which is being probed as a potential case of honor killing.
