In an operation by law enforcement agencies in the city of Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir, 4 terrorists were killed, 2 personnel were martyred, and 20 were injured.
According to details, law enforcement agencies conducted an operation in the Hussain Kot area of Rawalakot district in Azad Kashmir.
Police reported that 4 terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire. In the terrorists’ gunfire and hand grenade attack, 2 police officers were martyred and 20 were injured.
SSP Rawalakot Riaz Mughal stated in a media briefing that all four terrorists who were killed were wanted in murder cases. During the operation, 2 police personnel were martyred and 20 were injured.
According to the SSP, the terrorists had taken refuge in a cave in the forest in Hussain Kot. There was information that the suspects were planning acts of terrorism in Azad Kashmir.
Notably, the resurgence of terrorism is partly attributed to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ending its ceasefire with the government in November 2022. This development has led to an increase in attacks on security forces and infrastructure.
In March 2025, terrorists launched multiple attacks on police stations in KP, resulting in casualties among law enforcement personnel. Moreover, the Global Terrorism Index 2025 ranks Pakistan second globally, with a 45% rise in deaths from terrorist attacks over the past year, totaling 1,081 fatalities.
