Social media influencer Iqra, known for her TikTok account “Thal Ki Shehzadi,” was shot dead at her doorstep in what appears to be another honor killing in the Noorpur Thal tehsil of Khushab District, Punjab.
According to local police, her popularity for lifestyle content on TikTok, under the name “Thal Ki Shehzadi,” reportedly led to her murder.
District Police Officer (DPO) Khushab, Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem, said that preliminary investigations indicate the murder was driven by so-called “honor” motives.
According to police, the suspect, angered by Iqra’s TikTok videos, confronted her and fatally shot her during a heated altercation. She died at the scene before medical assistance could be provided.
Law enforcement responded promptly, arresting the suspect. A case has been registered at Noorpur Thal Police Station, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to examine all dimensions of the incident.
Iqra had gained a significant following on TikTok and other social media platforms and was widely recognized for her online presence. Her tragic death has triggered widespread outrage online, with users condemning the act and demanding justice.
Earlier this year, a man who had recently relocated his family from the United States to Pakistan confessed to murdering his teenage daughter due to his disapproval of her TikTok activity.
Anwar ul-Haq was charged with murder after admitting to fatally shooting his daughter, Hira, in the southwestern city of Quetta. Initially, he falsely claimed that unidentified assailants were responsible.
The father, a U.S. citizen, later told investigators that he considered his daughter’s social media posts “objectionable.”
