In what appears to be a humiliating episode for Mufti Abdul Qavi, Lal Masjid chief cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz forcibly expelled the controversial figure from the mosque seminary Jamia Hafsa in Islamabad.
In the video, which has since gone viral on social media, Mufti Abdul Qavi is seen sitting with some local scholars in the office of Jamia Hafsa. At that moment, Maulana Abdul Aziz enters the office carrying a gun and, without any preamble, sternly tells Mufti Abdul Qavi to leave immediately, warning, “Otherwise, I will shoot you.”
Hearing this, Mufti Abdul Qavi becomes frightened, immediately stands up, and leaves the office. In the video, Maulana Abdul Aziz can be heard using strong language.
He levels serious allegations against Mufti Abdul Qavi, calling him a bully, a tyrant, a drunkard, and an adulterer.
He further said that the entire Muslim Ummah should completely boycott Mufti Abdul Qavi and that he deserves to be flogged and stoned to death.
The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some people condemn Maulana Abdul Aziz’s behavior as dangerous and argue that taking the law into one’s own hands is unacceptable, while others appear to support his stance.
So far, Mufti Abdul Qavi has not responded to the incident, nor have the authorities taken any action.
