Pakistan has declared an air emergency at all its major airports and has cancelled all flights for the next 48 hours.
According to aviation sources, a regular NOTAM was also issued, closing the airspace for 48 hours.
Aviation sources further said that flight operations from Islamabad International Airport have been suspended until further notice, while flight operations at Lahore Airport have also been suspended.
More than 25 flights were cancelled, including those scheduled to Qatar, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Riyadh.
Airports in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Skardu, and Peshawar were also placed on high alert, with emergency aviation protocols activated nationwide.
Official sources confirmed that Islamabad International Airport was placed on red alert, with its airspace closed to all commercial flights. The sudden shutdown disrupted air travel, forcing at least three incoming flights to divert to alternative airports.
Indian missiles hit several places inside Pakistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
The missiles have been launched from the air in Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad. Before the explosion in Bahawalpur, a bright light covered the sky.
