Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declined the federal government’s invitation to attend a security briefing on the recent escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan, the party announced via a statement issued by its political committee.
PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram emphasized that while the party strongly condemns terrorism and supports national unity during times of crisis, it will not participate in the government’s scheduled briefing.
Highlighting the party’s unwavering position, Akram noted that PTI’s founding chairman, Imran Khan—despite being “unjustly incarcerated”—has consistently conveyed messages from prison denouncing terrorism and urging solidarity across the nation.
“Imran Khan’s stance remains resolute and courageous, embodying the vision of a true national leader committed to uniting the country,” Akram stated.
He further called on the government to convene an All-Parties Conference (APC) to take all major political forces into confidence regarding national security matters, asserting that PTI stands firmly at the forefront of safeguarding the country’s interests.
