The Pakistan Army has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, warning that any Indian attempt to impose war would be met with a “sure and decisive” response.
This strong declaration came during a Special Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.
General Munir praised the armed forces for their professionalism, high morale, and operational readiness, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and proactive defense measures.
He reiterated that the armed forces, in unity with the people of Pakistan, stand ready to defend the nation against any threat. “Any challenge to our sovereignty will receive a firm and conclusive reply,” he said.
The military leadership expressed serious concern over what it described as escalating Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident. The forum condemned the continued targeting of civilians along the Line of Control (LoC), labeling such actions as unprovoked and destabilizing. The commanders warned that these acts of aggression would draw a resolute and proportionate response from Pakistan.

Highlighting a broader pattern, the commanders accused India of exploiting crises for political and strategic leverage. They cited the 2019 Pulwama incident as a pretext used by New Delhi to revoke Article 370 and unilaterally alter the constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir. “There is a consistent pattern of deflecting internal policy failures through external aggression,” the commanders observed.
