Eidul Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is expected to commence on the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025, and continue through Tuesday, June 10.
Recognized as one of the most significant observances in the Islamic calendar, the festival commemorates the profound act of devotion by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was prepared to sacrifice his son, Isma’il (peace be upon him), in obedience to divine command.
In light of the upcoming celebration, the Government of Kuwait has officially declared a public holiday from Thursday, June 5, to Monday, June 9, 2025.
The decision was announced during a recent cabinet session chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Al-Sabah.
The five-day holiday will apply to all government entities and state institutions, during which official operations will remain suspended to allow citizens and residents to observe the occasion.
