NEW DELHI : Senior BJP leader and former Member of Parliament Subramanian Swamy has demanded the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, citing failures in foreign policy and regional diplomacy.
In a scathing public statement, Swamy accused the Modi-led government of isolating India on the global stage. “China and Turkey are openly siding with Pakistan, while India finds itself increasingly alone,” he remarked.
Calling for new leadership, Swamy said, “Narendra Modi must step down — India needs a leader who can restore diplomatic balance and assert national interests.”
He criticized Modi and Shah for what he described as repeated capitulations on strategic issues involving China, Pakistan, the Maldives, and Bangladesh. “China is now openly backing Pakistan, and this is a direct result of policy missteps,” he stated.
Swamy also slammed the government’s handling of the Ladakh border situation, claiming the Modi administration secretly handed over strategic land to China under a revised agreement in 2023 — without seeking parliamentary approval.
His remarks have stirred significant political controversy, revealing possible cracks within the BJP’s top leadership and raising questions about internal dissent over India’s foreign policy direction.
