Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah has warned the federal government regarding the issue of canals, stating that they do not want to bring down the government, but they can. He said the people of Sindh will now only be satisfied if the project is canceled.
Speaking on a program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath,” Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the federal government has mishandled the canals issue severely. “Do not push us to the point where a decision has to be made that will harm everyone,” he warned.
The Chief Minister of Sindh said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has strong arguments that this project is not beneficial for the country, and that the federal government should announce its cancellation to put an end to the unrest.
In response to a question, he stated that work on the project is currently not underway, and the Sindh government has been successful in stopping it.
The Chief Minister reiterated, “We do not want to bring down the government, but we can. The people of Sindh will only agree to one thing now, that this project be ended.”
Earlier, in a press conference as well, the Chief Minister of Sindh had clearly declared that the Pakistan Peoples Party will not allow the canals to be built at any cost.
In addition, he addressed the parties protesting against the canals, saying, “I support your protest, but please avoid causing hardship to the public. Protesters should also consider whether they are being manipulated. Protest, but do not block roads.”
